RCA Lilong posted a 108-run win over PCC Mayaikoibi in the 4th MNCA U-16 Boys Naorem Rajningthou Memorial Trophy 2023-24 played at Luwangpokpa Cricket Ground, Luwangsangbam.
Taking their stand to bat first, openers Safwan, with 47 runs, and Zunad, who remained unbeaten with 85 runs, provided a solid foundation to post 206 runs for 5 wickets from 30 overs. Anush got 29 runs and Dhanish made 27 runs as well.
PCC bowler Ajay bagged 2 wickets for 33 runs while Lucky, Pravin and Rojer took 1 wicket each.
In reply, PCC batsman could muster up only 98 runs for 10 wickets from 30 overs. Ajay top scored with 39 runs while the rest failed to cross the double-digit mark.
RCA bowler Naesh plucked 3 wickets for 11 runs from 6 overs while Imtiyas fetched 2 wickets to put RCA on the top spot of Group A with 9 points. RCA batsman Zunad claimed the Man of the Match for his 85 runs.
In the other matches, YPHUC Lalambung carried off 9 wickets win over SCCC Singjamei played at Lairenjam Public Ground.
SCCC made a meagre 46 runs for 9 wickets from 16.1 overs and in reply YPHUC reached the target in 4 overs for the loss of 1 wicket. YPHUC bowler Birbal claimed 6 wickets for 14 runs from 5 overs and was adjudged Man of the Match.
PTCC Patsoi, on the other hand, beat TRAU Kwakeithel by 65 runs at Public Ground Khangabok, Cherapur. N. Lanleiba and M. Polenjit top scored for PTCC hitting 33 runs and 22 respectively to put up 112 runs for 6 wickets from 25 overs.
In reply, TRAU managed just 47 runs for 9 wickets from 17.4 overs with PTCC bowler Devas creating havoc, claiming 4 wickets for 12 runs from 5 overs, to claim the Man of the Match.
The match at Dhobi Lampak, Kongba Khunou saw TCMDC picking up 7 wickets to beat PTRC Patsoi. PTRC managed 79 runs on board for 6 wickets from 25 overs.
Chasing the target, TCMDC rode Thomson who batted 40 runs off 39 balls to guide his team to victory in 15.1 overs for 3 wickets. He was later credited with the Man of the Match award.
