Manipur MP S Lorho Pfoze on Sunday drew the government attention to provide cold storage facility and shelter place for women vendors of Mao market. He also urged the government to turn the temporary Mao market in Imphal to a permanent market and for setting up a market for people of Ukhrul as well.
The MP was speaking at the Mao-Imphal Market Day 2022 observed on Sunday at Mao-Imphal Market Temporary Shed, Kabo Leikai Nongchup, Imphal West.
The event was organised by the Mao-Imphal Market Coordination Committee.
Addressing the gathering, the MP (Outer) said that the opening of the market has removed the discrimination that existed between hills and valley. Awareness of love between the hill and valley should be stronger to protect the state, Lorho said.
The MP then urged the authorities concerned to provide cold storage facility and shelter place for women vendors of Mao market. And, drew the government attention to turn the temporary Mao market in Imphal to a permanent market and for setting up a market for people of Ukhrul as well.
The observation was attended by Wangoi MLA Kh Loken; Mao-Imphal Market Coordination Committee vice chairman, Ksh Chingkhei Luwangcha; chairman of Mao-Imphal Market Coordination Committee, Beshii Pfoze Mao.
