Prime Minister Narendra Modi will be arriving in Imphal on February 22 to campaign for BJP candidates for the ensuing 12th Manipur Legislative Assembly elections, 2022.
During his visit, the Prime Minister will be addressing an election rally at Luwangshangbam Sports complex.
BJP Manipur Pradesh president A Sharda Devi appealed to the people of the state to extend their support and cooperation to the prime minister's visit.
Addressing the media in a press conference held at Luwangshangbam Sports Complex on Sunday, Sharda said they are expecting an attendance of over one lakh people. However, the party has decided to limit it to one lakh in view of the 50 per cent capacity norm set by the election commission of India to be followed as COVID-19 protocol.
The BJP president said the party is getting stronger every day owing to thier performance in delivering most of its promises made in the previous election in their vision document.
Concerned with the rising pre-poll violence in the state, Sharda also appealed to the people of the state to stop indulging in such violence that will hamper conducting the elections in a free and fair manner.
Election co in-charge of Manipur, Ashok Singhal also said that BJP is enjoying the positive vides of the people Manipur by receiving good wills. As such, the proposed rally to be held in connection with PM’s visit would be one of the most vibrant political rallies.
Ashok Singhal also said that the BJP is getting support from every quarter of the state. This will surely be reflected in the election results whereby getting more than 40 seats.
