PREPAK (Pro) cadre involved in hurling of hand grenade at AR post arrested

During interrogation, Mubinur revealed that he was recruited in the UG group by a person named Jiten in 2019 and that he hurled the hand grenade at the AR post under the command of Jiten.

One PREPAK (Pro) cadre, who was reportedly involved in hurling of hand grenade at AR post at Lilong on May 25, has been arrested by a joint team of Imphal East commando and 15 Assam Rifles.

According to police, the arrested cadre has been identified as Khulakpam Mubinur Rahaman, 19, son of Kh Mujibur Rahaman of Lilong Litan Makhong. He was arrested along with a Chinese-made hand grenade and detonator on Tuesday at around 5:20 pm from Arapti Lilong Mapal near VDF outpost, under Irilbung Police Station.

During interrogation, Mubinur revealed that he was recruited in the UG group by a person named Jiten in 2019. He further said that he hurled the hand grenade at the AR post under the command of Jiten.

On the other hand, 33 AR D-Coy apprehended one cadre of NSCN (IM) from Don Bosco School, Maram along NH-2 under Mao Police Station at around 1 am on Wednesday.

The arrested cadre was identified as NG Jashua Shakpa, 33, son of Ngaolung of Maram Khullen. A cash amount of Rs 2,900 was seized from his possession. He was handed over to Sekmai Police Station, but later referred to Mao Police Station.
