Police arrest four members of KPV

The four members of Kankhu Phetha Volunteers (KPV) were arrested for allegedly circulating articles that could incite communal hatred.

Police arrested four members of newly formed “unlawful” organisation of Kankhu Phetha Volunteers (KPV) for allegedly circulating articles that could incite communal hatred.

According to police the accused have been identified are LH Wolring, 68, son of LH Khungvol of Lamtbung village, Chandel; Langhu Monahring Anal @ David, 47, son of late Angno of Charongching village, Chakpikarong; Kothingwar, 27, son of late Rt Dalhring of Tampi village, Chakpikarong and SP Kolome Anal, 50 son of late SP Labin of Khumbung Khullen village, Chakpikarong.

Langhu Monahring Anal@David and RT Kothingwar were reportedly arrested on December 12. As per the revelation made by the two, the police team further arrested LH. Wolring and SP Kolome Anal on December 15.

Police said that the police recovered incriminating articles/pamphlets inciting communal hatred between communities, defaming organisations and individuals, including the chief minister of Manipur were seized from a laptop owned by Wolring.

Investigation of the case is in good progress and more accused persons need to be arrested in connection with the case, added the police.
