In an effort to give a major boost to the socio-economic condition of the people in Manipur, major development projects are being developed under the Pradhan Mantri Jan Vikas Karyakram (PMJVK) in all parts of the state, Chief Minister N Biren Singh has said.

"We will let our actions and performance do the talking," the chief minister said at a meeting to review the PMJVK works in the state on Tuesday. State legislators and officials were present at the review meeting.

Under PMJVK scheme, massive infrastructures such as Sadhbavna Mandap, hostels, educational infrastructure and health facilities are being developed in every corner of the state, the chief minister said.

"These infrastructures will give a major boost to the development of socio-economic conditions of the people," he said.

The state government will soon release a report of the achievements of the projects, the chief minister added.

It may be noted that the PMJVK seeks to provide better socio economic infrastructure facilities to the minority communities, particularly in the field of education, health and skill development which would further lead to lessening of the gap between the national average and the minority communities with regard to backwardness parameters.
