Suggesting that the people of Manipur make the state one of the leading states in the country, MLA of Khangabok Constituency, O Surjakumar Singh on Monday appealed to the people of the state to keep on discussing and analysing the functioning of the government and political parties as a watch dog all the time instead of just giving due interest at the time of election.

He stated this during the first foundation day of Radio Nongin 90.8 MHZ held on Monday at Jawaharlal Nehru Manipur Dance Academy Hall.

Addressing the function as chief guest, Surjakumar said that the voice of the people is very significant in a democratic country. They should always pay attention, keep a vigil and discuss the governing system of the government. Besides this, citizens should also raise their opinion, suggestions and constructive criticism from time to time, he said.

The state would bring a sea change if this system was practically adopted instead of just debating about governance only during the election period, he added.
