Pension cards distributed in Imphal East

Altogether, 245 Chief Minister's widow pension cards and 231 Manipur old age pension scheme cards were distributed to the newly enrolled people of Kshetrigao.

Kshetrigao MLA, Sheikh Noorul Hassan, on Wednesday distributed Manipur old age pension scheme and Chief Minister's widow pension cards at his residence under the district social welfare office, Imphal East.

Altogether, 245 Chief Minister's widow pension cards and 231 Manipur old age pension scheme cards were distributed to the newly enrolled people of Kshetrigao.

Speaking at the programme, Sheikh Noorul Hassan said that the widow pension scheme holders will get Rs 500 per month and the distributed cards already have 10 months’ worth of money.

He added that, old age pension scheme holders will get Rs 200 per month for the age group 60 to 79 years and Rs 1000 for 80 years and above.

The MLA also appealed to the department officials to make the schemes available in all the 46 polling stations of the constituency. Beneficiaries should also submit their required documents to the concern department to avail the benefits, he added.

Directorate of Social Welfare, Imphal East District Social Welfare officer Waikhom Thamapati Devi spoke about the benefits and on how to avail the benefits during the programme.
