PAWF Manipur in Assam's Hojai

Patriotic Writers’ Forum (PAWF) Manipur, in collaboration with the Manipuri Women’s Literary and Cultural Organisation, Hojai, laid the foundation stones for the Nupi Lal Remembrance Statue and the Lamyanba Hijam Irawat Statue at two locations in Hojai, Assam, on Wednesday.

Patriotic Writers’ Forum (PAWF) Manipur, in collaboration with the Manipuri Women’s Literary and Cultural Organisation, Hojai, laid the foundation stones for the Nupi Lal Remembrance Statue and the Lamyanba Hijam Irawat Statue at two locations in Hojai, Assam, on Wednesday.

The foundation stone for the Nupi Lal statue was laid at Thambal Rising Club Ground, Govindapur, while the Lamyanba Hijam Irawat statue was established at Nandapur Popular Club and Library Ground, Hojai, in the presence of Forum President Naoroibam Khamba Luwang and Secretary Rakesh Naorem.

Secretary Rakesh Naorem explained that the decision to install these statues in Hojai was made to promote unity within the Meitei community residing in Assam.

Meanwhile, social activist Kiran Yendrembam commended PAWF Manipur’s efforts to reconnect with the Meitei community in Hojai, Assam, and initiate the installation of the Nupi Lal and Lamyanba Hijam Irawat statues.

PAWF Founder Secretary, OC Meira, emphasised that the unity of Meitei women and the ideals of Lamyanba Hijam Irawat are essential for safeguarding Manipur’s territorial integrity.
