One dies of COVID-19; two found positive after vaccination in Thoubal

The deceased person was staying in a rented room at Thoubal Melaground and he used to collect scraps in the nearby areas.

A non-local died at Thoubal District Hospital on Monday evening after being infected with COVID-19, sources said.

The deceased person was staying in a rented room at Thoubal Melaground and he used to collect scraps in the nearby areas. He has been identified as Shanikun Sheik, 29, son of (Late) Lijam Sheikh of Lalkhandiar, Murshidabad district, West Bengal, the sources said.

As per reports from officials of the district hospital, it said that the person was tested with Rapid Antigen Test and found to be COVID-19 positive. The landlord said that the deceased person earlier had liver problem and had gone to his hometown for treatment.

Thoubal district now has 11 active COVID-19 cases, out of which two had been reportedly inoculated with the COVID-19 vaccine.
