A road mishap on Tuesday claimed the life of one motorcyclist after colliding with a four wheeler near traffic island, Kwakeithel Bazar.
The motorcyclist, riding a hero Honda splendor registration No MN1J-1105 was coming from Khagempalli to Kwakeithel Thiyam leikai when he crashed with one Ambulance (winger) which was driving towards Imphal from Bishnupur.
The motorcyclist received serious injury and was evacuated to RIMS hospital for medical treatment. The motorcycle was also partly damaged.
He was later identified as one Thokchom Bishambhor aged about 53 years, son of Th Mani of Sagolband Tera Tongbram Leikai. He succumbed to his injuries at RIMS Hospital at about 7 pm. Section 304-A has been added in the case.
The body has been kept at RIMS mortuary for conducting post mortem examination. The ambulance belonged to Bishnupur Hospital.
A suo-motu case under FIR no. 95(6)2021 IPS U/S 279/338/427 IPC has been registered against the ambulance driver for investigation.
