One-day village level awareness programme on Manipur State Rural Livelihood Mission held

The programme also included a seminar on livelihood for people below the poverty line.

A one-day village level awareness programme on Manipur State Rural Livelihood Mission (MSRLM) was held on Friday at Thingkangphai community hall, organised by the Department of Rural Development and Panchayat Raj, Government of Manipur.

The programme was led by Neikhonieng from Pangzawl, who is an active member of Self-Help Groups (SHGs).

During the programme, cluster coordinator of MSRLM S Bikram Singh said that they are not NGO but a full-fledged organisation under the government which aims to uplift the downtrodden people particularly women who are as equal as their male counterparts.

The programme also included a seminar on livelihood for people below the poverty line. It was attended by active women leaders from villages like Pangzawl, Konpui, Tangmual, T Minjang, Suangsiboh, Immanual Khopi and Tongdam.

Coordinator of MSRLM Raj Bidya said that such programmes will soon be held at Songsibok and Kawnpui village and in areas of Lanva with an aim to help the people who are in dire need to find a solution to their problems in terms of livelihood.
