Patriotic Writer’s Forum (PAWF), Manipur, in association with the Forum of Tripura, commenced the month-long observance of the 129th birth anniversary of Lamyanba Hijam Irawat on Sunday at Lalshingmura in Tripura. The event also paid floral tribute to Lamyanba Hijam Irawat at Lalshingmura.
Secretary of PAWF, Rakesh Naorem, advisory board member of the Tripura branch, Kshetrimayum Madhabi, Ningombam Pranay, secretary Subin, and social Activist Kiran Yendrembam, among others attended the event.
Speaking on the sidelines of the event, Rakesh Naorem mentioned that as part of the Irawat Day observance, PAWF honored several eminent individuals with the Lifetime Achievement Award in the name of Lamyanba.
He highlighted that for this year, Tripura’s social and cultural activist Kshetrimayum Madhabi and the Joint Editor of the Meitei-language weekly paper ‘Marup’, RK Tarunjit, will be recognised with this prestigious award.
