The office of the Naga Women’s Union Chandel (NWUC) has congratulated Thumli Tiningpham Monsang on her appointment as the chairperson, Manipur State Commission for Women, Government of Manipur.
Thumli Tiningpham from Monsang Naga Tribe of Changnhe (Heibunglok) village, Chandel District, Manipur achieved this prestigious and outstanding appointment through her persistent hard work, dedication and commitment towards the Women community, Information & Publicity of NWUC stated in a press release.

Following an order dated August 8, 2024 by N Geoffrey, commissioner-cum-secretary (Social Welfare), Government of Manipur in the name of the Governor of Manipur, Thumli Tiningpham Monsang was appointed as the chairperson, Manipur State Commission for Women with immediate effect and until further orders.
As per the order, she will hold the post for a period not exceeding 3 (three) years or till the age of 65 years, whichever is earlier, in accordance with Section 4(1) of the said act, read with rule 3(1)(1) of the Manipur State Commission for Women Rules, 2024.
