The Naga Students’ Union Bangalore (NSUB) in collaboration with the NGO Reaching Hand organised a cleanliness drive at Dr Rajkumar Park in Bangalore this weekend.
Many Naga students, working professionals, local governing bodies and Reaching Hand volunteers took part in the drive organised for the first time, stated a release. The drive aimed to restore and beautify one of Bangalore’s green spaces, it stated.
Speaking on the sidelines, NSUB president Nungsangmongla Ozukum expressed her pride and satisfaction with the initiative and assured to continue such activities, it said. ‘This project is very close to our hearts’, she stated.
She said that for over five decades, the Naga community has found a second home here in Bangalore and its time the community gives back to the city that has embraced them with open arms, it mentioned. She maintained that the cleanup drive is a way of showing gratitude and contributing to the well-being of the environment, it added.
It said that the collaboration with Reaching Hand provided essential logistical support, ensuring the event’s success. Local residents also expressed their appreciation for the efforts towards the restoration of the park, the release stated.
