Notice to claim bodies at JNIMS mortuary

The Nongpok Sekmai Police Station has issued 15-day timeline to claim two unidentified male bodies lying at JNIMS Mortuary, Imphal.

The Nongpok Sekmai Police Station, Thoubal district on Sunday informed those concerned to visit and identify the bodies of three males lying unclaimed at JNIMS Mortuary within 15 days.

In a notice issued by Officer in Charge of Nongpok Sekmai Police Station Thoubal District, Sh Chandrakumar Singh, two unidentified male bodies were discovered beside the IVR of the Ningel Toubul village in Thoubal district at 5:45 am on May 5, 2023.

It stated that one of the males has an elongated face, 5’4 tall, about 51 years, wore long grey coloured pants and an orange-coloured T-Shirt. The other has a round-shaped face, 5’6 tall, about 17 years, wore black coloured jeans and a violet-coloured T-Shirt, the police said.

While an unidentified charred body of a male was also found lying in a paddy field of S Elimphai village in Kangpokpi district on May 12, 2023, it said.

It mentioned that the three bodies were kept at JNIMS Mortuary after post-mortem examination. However, no one has claimed the bodies till date. If anyone is suspicious, they can visit and identify the bodies within 15 days, the police said.
