No monthly honorarium provided to PSA oxygen plants technicians

The state government has been urged to issue pending monthly honorarium to technicians of PSA oxygen plants and extend their contractual period.

The All Manipur PSA Oxygen Plant Committee on Friday urged the Manipur government and authority concerned to issue pending monthly honorarium and extend their contractual period.

Committee president Laishram Surjit told the media at the Manipur Press Club, Majorkhul that a total of 91 contractual staff were engaged during the initial period of the second wave of the pandemic.

He said the contractual staff have completed their contract period. However, due to the present situation and for emergency purposes, they are still being utilised by the management committee of the respective hospitals.

Since they were engaged as technicians of PSA oxygen plants, no monthly honorarium had been received while the contractual staff of Thoubal and Churachandpur PSA oxygen plants had received their honorarium of only two-and-half months, he said.

He appealed to the state government and authority concerned to issue their pending monthly honorarium and further extend their contractual period.
