No flaws in nomination of non-locals under rules: Manipur health directorate

The Directorate of Health Services, Manipur on Friday clarified that there are no flaws in the nomination of Muslim candidates nominated for admission to MBBS seats, subject to verification of their domicile certificates.

The Directorate of Health Services, Manipur on Friday issued a clarification, concerning new reports on the alleged nomination of non-local candidates for admission to MBBS, stating that there are no flaws in the nomination under rules.

In the first round of open counseling for selection of candidates for admission to the available seats for MBBS/BDS/BASLP courses in RIMS, JNIMS & CMC and state share seats in SAHS, 33 candidates belonging to OBC (MP) category were nominated for admission to MBBS seats in various institutes for the session 2022, said a statement issued to the additional chief secretary (Health and Family Welfare) by Director of Health Services Kh Sasheekumar Mangang.

In the news item published on a local daily, the All Manipur Muslim Organisation Coordinating Committe (AMMCOC) alleges that of the five Muslim Candidates Selected for admission to RIMS for 2022 session, two were nominated for admission to MBBS seats reserved for OCB (MP), it stated. The news report mentioned that of the two selected, one has been identified as a non-local muslim canidate, it mentioned.

On examination of the details of Muslim candidates nominated for admissoin to MBBS seats in various institutes for the session 2022, two muslim candidates, namely Shidika Ahmed, daughter of Mamatazuddin Ahmed from Minuthong Hafiz Hatta, Imphal East and Naaz Maruada, daugher of Md Abdul Khalique Shah from Yairipok Bamon Leikai, Thoubal have been identifed as nominated against MBBS seats reserved for the OBC (MP) category in RIMS, Imphal, it further stated.

The statement also enclosed the domicile certificates issued by competent authorities to the candidates.

Under the Manipur MBBS/BDS/BASLP (Selection of Candidates of Nomination) Rules, 2021, there are no flaws in the nomination of the two candidates, subject to verification of their domicile certificates, it added.
