NH 102B in deplorable conditions, video goes viral

A video showing a four wheeler being pulled by an excavator on the mud filled highway went viral on social media.

The present condition of the National Highway 102B, connecting Manipur and Mizoram is reportedly in a highly deplorable condition, further exacerbated by the incessant rains which has hit the region.

A video showing a four wheeler being pulled by an excavator on the mud filled highway went viral on social media. 

The video was posted by Churachandpur MLA LM Khaute on X, with the caption, “Travelers btn Lamka and Aizawl (NH102B) have been suffering due to the horrible road condition with rains worsening the situation. Helicopter services have been suspended. Took over 28 hrs. This must be the worst NH in the country. An airport is urgently needed.”

Following the crisis which erupted on May 3, 2023, the Kuki community has been traveling on the NH 102B and other routes for healthcare, exams, among others.
