North East India Dalit Development Association (NEIDDA) inaugurated its office branch at CCM Campus, Kathikho Karong under Senapati district on Tuesday. As a part of the programme, foundation stone for Manipur Dalit School was laid in the place.
Addressing the function as chief guest, president of All India Dalit Development Association, TM Rajen Ayangba said that with an objective to extend support to downtrodden people, the branch is being open to provide free education to economically backward children. He also said that a school will be set up.
The future of the state lies in the hands of the children of today’s generation and as such, it is very important to shape the life of every child irrespective of their economic condition, he said.
Further stating that the problem of poverty exists both in hills and valley, he termed it unfortunate that there is hatred or conflict between communities in the state amidst this.
People should love each other and live harmoniously as the state will not progress without it, he said.
The programme was also attended by NEIDDA advisor Moirangthem Sarojini Leima as guest of honour.
