NEET (UG) 2023 on June 6

The National Testing Agency (NTA) will be conducting the National Eligibility cum Entrance Test (UG)-2023 in Pen and Paper mode across India on June 6.

The National Testing Agency (NTA) will be conducting the National Eligibility cum Entrance Test (UG)-2023 in Pen and Paper mode across India on June 6, 2023 (Tuesday) across 10 centres in India with seven of them in North East India.

In a letter to the Chief Secretary of all States/ UT dated June 2, 2023, Dr Sadhana Parashar, Senior Director (Examinations and Research) of the NTA stated that the “National Testing Agency is conducting the National Eligibility cum Entrance Test (UG)-2023 in Pen and Paper mode across India and overseas”.

“I am writing to you to seek your support for the conduct of the aforementioned Examination,” the Senior Director stated in the letter.

The centres are Aizawl (Mizoram), Kohima/Dimapur (Nagaland), Imphal (Manipur), Shillong (Meghalaya), Guwahati, Jorhat, Silchar (Assam), Kolkata (West Bengal), Delhi and Bengaluru (Karnataka).

The NEET (UG)-2023 was to be held in Imphal on May 7 but was postponed due to the prevailing situation.

Dr Sadhana Parashar further wrote that for the smooth conduct of this prestigious/high stake examination, the Chief Secretary of all states/UTs are requested to issue suitable instructions to the concerned Department(s)/ Authorities/District Administrations to extend necessary cooperation to the examination Functionaries on the ground.

The Senior Director (Examinations and Research) of the NTA wrote that examination centres in the Exam cities in the State/ UT may be allowed to remain open and operate for all activities on 06 May 2023.

Free movement passes may be considered to facilitate in the Exam Cities in State/ UT on the dates of Examination for the candidates and their escorts, exam Personnel (City Coordinators, Observers, Centre Superintendent, Invigilators and Support Staff) as well as the Staff/Representatives of our Service Providers for CCTV/ Frisking/ Jammers etc. for this Examination.

In case there is a restriction on movements in certain areas, Admit/ Identity Cards issued to the candidates may be treated as a pass for their movement, Dr Sadhana Parashar wrote, adding that in case of other functionaries, appropriate movement passes may be issued, if and when required.

He also wrote that adequate security arrangements may kindly be made in the Exam Cities in State/ UT to maintain Law and Order and Police Personnel (at least 01/ SI/ ASI and 04 Constables) may be deployed at each Examination Centre for crowd management and social distancing, in close coordination with respective City Coordinator (s)/ Centre Superintendents.

It may be ensured that there is a continuous power supply to the homes of candidates and the Exam Centres, the Senior Director (Examinations and Research) of the NTA wrote.
