'Need to relocate crematorium constructed at river banks'

Manipur MLA Th Arunkumar on Wednesday stressed the need to relocate the crematorium constructed along river banks to a proper location as it has become a factor in polluting the water which is being used for household purposes.

He was delivering the gathering after handing over a renovated crematorium to the people of New Checkon, Wangkhei Khunou and Nongpok Ingkhol in Imphal East.

With regards to the trends of consuming liquor by those who conducted funerals till the last hour, the MLA mooted installing of an electronic crematorium at Wangkhei AC which will be the solution to both the pollution and liquor issue.

Pointing out that crematorium should be a clean place as it is associated with the last rite of an individual, he appealed to the public to maintain a clean surrounding and environment.

Announcing that his first five-year-tenure as the MLA of Wangkhei AC will be dedicated to infrastructure development, Arunkumar sought cooperation and support of the public in the implementation of welfare and development along the constituency.

Also concerning the trends of unpunctuality in almost every event or function, the MLA lectured the public on the importance of punctuality, which cannot be bought in moving forward to development.
