The National Minorities Rights Day 2022 was observed on Sunday at Maharaja Budhachandra College in Imphal East by the Minorities Students’ Association (MSA), Manipur.
Speaking on the occasion, Kshetrigao MLA Sheikh Noorul Hassan stressed the need for every citizen to abide by the law of the land while demanding their rights.
Highlighting the various Central and state-sponsoredd welfare schemes introduced for the minority communities, he urged all the eligible beneficiaries to take the benefits of the schemes.
Terming India, a diverse country, a beautiful garden of different ethnic groups, the MLA called for unity, peace and cordial support between all the communities settling in the state in order to move forward to development.
The programme was also attended by president of MSA Md Usman Gani DP, principal of MB College M Chandra Singh, advisor of MMWO Abdullah Phundreimayum, social activist Lamtingthang Haokip and former president of MSF Sazad Bhuiyamayum as presidium members.
