Pherzawl District Police under the supervision of i/c SP Pherzawl district Lunzamung Tungnung observed ‘Nasha Se Azadi Pakhwada’ on Sunday to mark the ‘International Day against Drug Abuse and Illicit Trafficking’.

At the occasion, Lunzamung Tungnung said that the campaign is highly crucial for the district and through this awareness they are trying to make the people aware of the ill effect of drugs, stated a release issued by the DIO Pherzawl district.  

He stressed that the war on drugs cannot be successful without the cooperation of the community, it stated. He further urged officials of the district police and the public to play a positive role by making it a mission which will be a great contribution in mitigating the drug menace, it mentioned.

The event was attended by OC Thanlon, T Joy Martin and OC Parbung, Lutminthang Kipgen. An awareness interaction on drugs with village authorities was also conducted.
