Chief Minister N Biren Singh is the most "corrupted, incompetent, uneducated and unqualified" chief minister of Manipur and his government is a dictatorial form of government, alleged Indian National Congress candidate of Langthabal assembly constituency, Okram Joy.

O Joy was speaking at the flag hoisting ceremony of INC candidate Soraisham Manaoton Singh of Naoriya Pakhanglakpa assembly constituency at Mekola Public ground, Mekola Bazar, Imphal on Friday. He said the Biren-led government under the leadership of Prime Minister Narendra Modi had victimised the people of Manipur under its dictatorial form of government for the last five years.

Any person criticising the BJP government will be put behind bars with false charges, he added.

To root out the present BJP leaders, people in Manipur must support INC candidate Manaoton, he added.

“No BJP government will return to form a new Manipur government but a Congress government will definitely return in Manipur,” Joy said.

If the Congress party forms the new government, then any politician who is found involved in corruption will be put behind bars, including chief minister N Biren himself if found guilty of corruption, said the INC candidate.

With the false promises of BJP leaders, Manipur has been suffering from overdraft which was not there during the then Congress government, he added.

Manipur Pradesh Congress Party (MPCC) president N Loken Singh said the BJP leaders created a false impression to the people of Manipur that with a ‘double-engine BJP government’, development could be achieved in Manipur. He said there are no differences as there are equal benefits for each state whether there is the same political party in both the state and Centre or not.

In the coming election, the Congress party will return to Manipur to bring peace, welfare and development, Loken said.
