A Myanmar national was apprehended on Thursday at Suangdai village in Churachandpur by a combined team of Manipur police and 46 AR after he was found in possession of suspected drugs.

Police sources said that at around 4 pm on Thursday, a combined team of Manipur police and 46 AR was conducting random frisking checking at Suangdai village where one person was stopped for verification and on thorough search, it was found that he was carrying one carton box which had 43 soap cases containing suspected drugs.
On spot interrogation, he revealed that his name is Enlianmang Vaiphei, 34, son of Engkhanthang Vaiphei from Valvet, Myanmar. He disclosed that he was carrying drugs and is a citizen of Myanmar and brought to Singngat, sources said.
The sealing of soap cases suspected to be drugs was done in front of independent witnesses, it said.
A regular case under FIR No 15(4) SGT PS under section 21(c) NDPS and 14 Foreigners Act is registered for further investigation.
