MSF condemns using of unfinished schools premises for rents

MSF drew the attention of the education minister and authorities concerned to strictly look into the the using of unfinished buildings of seven schools in Jiribam district as rental accommodation and sheds.

The Manipur Student Federation (MSF) District Committee, Jiribam has condemned the using of unfinished buildings of seven schools in Jiribam district as rental accommodation and sheds.

President of MSF District Committee, Jiribam, Atom Rajiv Meetei through a video has informed that as a part of ‘Lairik Ningthi Na Tamsi’ campaign, a team of MSF inspected the schools located at Jiribam district earlier and it was found that the construction work of the seven schools were left unfinished. The completion work of six primary schools and one upper primary school had already begun in 2014-2015 under the 2012-13 budget, he added.

Rajiv also maintained that the authorities concerned have already got the funds released for first and second Instalments for the schools buildings.  He also mentioned that the six primary schools are located at Rashidpur PS, Goakhal Chingdongleikai PS, Ningthembam Pt. II PS, Dolakhal PS, Wakhal PS and Salukphai PS, while the upper primary school is at Bakhal UPS of Jiribam district.

Expressing suspicion over involvement of some top officials of the authority on the matter, Rajiv drew the attention of the education minister and authorities concerned to strictly look into the matter.
