A 32-year-old man riding a motorcycle died after colliding with a heavy duty truck near Kakching Lamkhai, Kakching district around 10.30 am on Wednesday.
According to police, the victim has been identified as one K Moshang, 32, son of K Shanginson from Khoibu Village of Chandel district. He was riding the vehicle with one Thangkhapao Mate, 22, from Pallel Keipham.
The police said K Moshang died on the spot while Thangkhapao Mate sustained serious injuries and was admitted at Shija Hospital, Police stated. They were on a two-wheeler vehicle (Kenbo bike) when they crashed with a heavy-duty truck (Tata truck-MN01AA 0228) at Kakching Lamkhai. The bike belonged to Thangkhapao Mate.
It mentioned that the Kakching police filed a case regarding the incident and detained the driver of the heavy-duty truck. The body the deceased is kept at the JNIMS mortuary for post mortem, it added.
