Minister of State (MoS) for Home Affairs Nityanand Rai and BJP national spokesperson and Manipur in-charge Sambit Patra on Friday met with the leaders of Indigenous Tribal Leaders' Forum (ITLF) in Churachandpur district and with Committee on Tribals Unity (COTU) Sadar Hills and CSOs in Kangpokpi district.
In Kangpokpi, the proposed meeting took place at 22 Assam Rifles Kangpokpi post.
During the almost two-hour-long meeting, the spokesperson of COTU, Sadar Hills, K. Sitlhou apprised the chronology of the violence, alleged atrocities and crime committed upon the innocent tribal Kukis with papers and video evidence to the two central leaders.
MoS Nityainand Rai assured that justice will be delivered.

Meanwhile, BJP national spokesperson Sambit Patra informed the Kuki leaders that Union Home Minister Amit Shah had categorically assured rioters will not be spared.
"Today we are not talking about solutions because our home minister is the right man who would be talking about how we move ahead", added Sambit Patra.

Later in the evening, the two visited Churachandpur district and met with leaders of Indigenous Tribal Leaders' Forum (ITLF), CSOs and other leaders of the district.
And after listening to the grievances of the tribal leaders for about 15 minutes, the two left but not before the minister assured that he would come back on tomorrow (Saturday) for another round of talks with them.
Earlier during the day, a total shutdown was affected by ITLF and its affiliates in the district with everything closed down. Roads were blocked too and the effigy of CM Biren burnt.
