Manipur BJP president A Sharda Devi has assured that there will be more development in hill areas, including Ukhrul and Kamjong districts if people elect BJP candidates in the upcoming state election.
Sharda was speaking at an interaction programme regarding the coming state assembly election conducted at Phalee village of Chingai assembly constituency in Ukhrul district on Thursday.
During the programme, Sharda pointed out various villages in the state where there is no development. However, to bring equal development in both hills and valleys, the BJP-led government has been putting immense efforts, she said. As such, the government has been focussing on weaker sections of the state, particularly on empowering women and bringing welfare to youths, she added.
Sharda said various schemes have been implemented to empower women by setting up self-help groups and giving loans to women street vendors of Khwairamband Ima market. For the youths, the government has introduced skill development programmes to enhance their potential.
Apart from various flagship programmes and other schemes, the government is also focusing on bringing development in the education sector, especially for the hill areas, she added.
