Director of Information and Public Relations (IPR) Th Charanjeet Singh released the monthly journal, ‘Nongshaba’ in a solemn function at the Auditorium of DIPR Office Complex at Nityaipat Chuthek, Imphal West on Wednesday.
The said journal is published by Kshetrimayum Shanta Singh and edited by Salam Bimola Devi.
Addressing the gathering as the chief guest, Th Charanjeet Singh applauded the Nongshaba monthly journal team on its 12th Foundation Day and the re-releasing of its journal after some gap years due to Covid pandemics.
The director expressed that the directorate has keen interest for the welfare of the journalists fraternity and has been supporting many media personnel under certain welfare schemes provided by the directorate.
He invited the professionals from the media fraternity to participate in the competition of ‘Best Editor and Best Reporter (on certain categories)’, being organised by the Directorate where the winners are to be awarded on the National Press Day this year.
The function was also attended by publisher of Nongshaba Kshetrimayum Shanta Singh and joint director, IPR Tongbram Ramesh Singh as the president and guest of honour, respectively.
In the presidential speech, Ksh Shanta expressed his concern over the increase of many unofficial and unauthorised media groups in many social media platforms.
Joint director, IPR T Ramesh stated that the wave of journalism has significantly increased these days.
Recalling all those struggles that had been faced in previous times, he expressed delight with the surfacing of many qualified professionals and new technologies.
He also emphasised that quality of the writing and news presentation is the key and it should be prioritised the most. He urged the team of Nongshaba to be more dedicated in developing the monthly journal
