Naga legislator Ram Muivah on Tuesday said he had been wrongly accused of making certain statements regarding, inter alia, a separate administration that 10 Kuki MLAs demanded.
Speaking to the media in Imphal, Ram Muivah said that certain statements regarding, inter alia, the separate administration demanded by 10 Kuki MLAs had been wrongly attributed to him in some dailies and the same was making the rounds on social media.
“It is true that some journalists in Ukhrul asked for my views and comments about the demand for a separate administration by 10 Kuki MLAs and the response of the Naga legislators," Muivah said.
“I have categorically stated that the issue is highly emotive, and I have no comment,” he informed the press during the press meet. He added that, unfortunately, he was quoted out of context.
He said he has no intention to hurt anybody’s sentiments. His view, in any case, does not reflect the decision and position of his party or leaders or the Naga public in general.
Stating that the situation in the state is truly tragic and sad, the MLA said that, as a responsible government, restoring peace and normalcy should be its priority.
It may be mentioned that some daily newspapers reported on May 23 that ‘Naga wants a self-government unit across borders: MLA Muivah’.
