MLA Noorul Hassan’s Health Protection Mission Phase II launched; sacrifices entire salary, allowance

In an effort to ensure health services facilities to all the people of Kshetrigao AC MLA Sheikh Noorul Hassan on Saturday launched “Health Protection Mission Phase II” by sacrificing his entire MLA’s salary and allowances.

As many as 286 individuals from Kshetrigao AC have benefitted free medical treatment from the mission amounting to a total of Rs 40 lakh during the first phase of the mission which was launched on April 24, 2022.

The mission was initiated considering the financial issues faced by underprivileged sections during medical emergencies, the MLA said during the launching function held at ABA Ground in Imphal East adding that after all, maximum of the villagers of Kshetrigao are daily wage earners facing financial issues.

He informed that every villager of Kshetrigao AC, irrespective of caste, creed and gender, who apply for the membership of the scheme will get the benefit.

Considering health as priority, the MLA called upon all the households in his constituency to apply for the membership at a minimal fee of Rs 1,500 for the basic card and Rs.10,000 for the premium card.

He explained that the basic card will cover facilities of free ambulance, general medicine, hospitalisation, surgery, consultant, in patient department and others while the premium card will cover all the facilities available by the basic card on top of free transportation and treatment in all empanelled hospitals at Guwahati.

As of now the Narayana Super Speciality Hospital and Research Centre is the only empanelled hospital at Guwahati, he added.

The MLA also announced installation of free OPD services at four different locations of the constituency which includes Top Mayai Leikai, Kshetri Awang Leikai, Khergao and Kongba.

The programme was also attended by managing director of Public Hospital Taj Uddin; pradhan of Kshetrigao GP Fajlur Rahman; president of NPP Kshetrigao Unit Abdul Gaffar and vice-president of NPP Manipur Mangsatabam Premchand as presidium members.
