Miyamgi Numit vs Janata Darbar: Manipur Governor La Ganesan assures better roadways

Manipur Governor La Ganesan on Wednesday called on the public to bear with the poor road conditions for some time as many developmental projects are in advanced stage for a better change. 

“The sufferings are not permanent. Be patient and you will get a good road after the completion of the projects,” he added. 

The governor was addressing an interaction programme with the people’s representatives, government officials, CSOs and villagers under Wangoi Subdivision, Imphal West at Mayai Lambi College, Yumnam Huidrom in Imphal West. It was organised by the District Administration of Imphal West. 

Stressing on the need to maintain clean and hygienic surroundings by all being as a responsible citizen as it is the key to prevent one from any diseases, he also called on the public to refrain from using plastic bags.

Lauding the healthcare services and the support of the public in successfully overcoming the COVID-19 pandemic, he apprised the public to get fully vaccinated with the COVID-19 vaccine to prevent from any unwanted eventualities in the future.

During the interaction, various people’s representatives, CSOs, ASHA and Anganwadi workers and villagers raised various grievances faced by the people under the sub-division especially on the poor road connectivity and frequent flood. 

In regards to those grievances, the governor assured to send a detailed report to the chief minister drawing his attention to do the needful. 

Ganesan also expressed his confidence that such Janata Darbar (interaction programme) will definitely help to identify issues and grievances faced by the people and help concerned authorities to deal with the issues timely.

Langthabal MLA Karam Shyam also suggested the need to organise a joint meeting of the MLAs under Wangoi Subdivision with the district level officers on the first of every month for the development and betterment of the subdivision.

Pointing out that the subdivision has been neglected by the state government in most aspects, he called on the district level officers to give their best service and apprised the public to contribute their best cooperation to bring development in the sub-division. 

The function was also attended by Wangoi MLA Kh Loken; Mayang-Imphal MLA K Robindro; Adhyaksha of Imphal West ZP RK Taruni and Imphal West DC Th Kirankumar among others.
