Missing boy found dead in Imphal River

A 17-year-old boy from Madhya Pradesh, who went missing since August 8, was fished out from Imphal River on Friday.

A boy who had gone missing since August 8 was found dead in Imphal River near Singjamei Bridge under Singjamei Police Station in Imphal West around 1 pm on Friday, sources said.      

The deceased has been identified as one Sahil Balmiki, 17, son of (L) Pappu Balmiki from Madhya Pradesh and was residing at Mahabali Kabui village, the sources said.

The 17-year-old boy went missing since 2 pm of August 8. His family had lodged a missing report at Porompat police station the following day.

The body of the boy was fished out from the Imphal river by police and family members, the sources added.
