Minister Th Radheshyam gives two ambulances for people of Thoubal, Heirok

The minister urged the people to make use of the ambulances without making any sort of payment or giving charges.

Two ambulances were provided for the people of Thoubal district and Heirok assembly constituency by Education Minister Th Radheshyam and his family on Sunday.

Speaking on the occasion, Th Radehshyam, who is also the MLA of Heirok assembly constituency said that considering the requirement of ambulances for the people of Thoubal district and Heirok assembly constituency in view of the COVID-19 pandemic, the vehicles were provided for public use. He urged the people to make use of the ambulances without making any sort of payment or giving charges.   

To investigate the measures undertaken by the state government to combat the pandemic, minister Radheshyam who is also the district in charge of Thoubal and Kaching personally visited the community quarantine centres opened in Thoubal district. During the visit, the ambulances were handed over to the volunteers of the community quarantine centre opened at Khangarok, Heirok assembly constituency.

Radheshyam said, the state government takes serious concern over the COVID-19 pandemic. It is fortunate that there has been no casualty so far and no community spread has occurred till date by the grace of God, he expressed. 

He continued that the number of stranded Manipuris yet to return to the state is relatively less now. Once all the stranded people have been brought back, an active figure can be surely determined, he stated. Above all, by the relentless efforts put by the state government, a total of 2,000 people can be tested on a single day, he informed. Therefore, it is believed that all issues concerning the pending of test results and other inconveniences will be sorted out within a matter of four-five days, he assured.

Under the leadership of Chief Minister N Biren, ministers are holding meetings on a daily basis to assess the situation and come up with strong measures to combat the pandemic. Though the government has recently faced some hiccups, it has not affected any of the ongoing measures being undertaken to fight the pandemic, he said.    

The government is also strictly monitoring every possible outcome the state may face after the pandemic is over, Radheshyam said.

Informing that the state government is leaving no stone unturned in its efforts to fight the pandemic along with assistance of doctors, police, nurses, the media and volunteers of quarantine centres, he stated that the collective efforts are being given for the cause. He appealed to the people not to panic as the grievances and issues faced by the quarantine centres will be resolved by the government under the guidance of the chief minister. 

He said the two ambulances are being donated for the people of Thoubal district and Heirok assembly constituency from the revenues collected from the oil pump, named ‘Kisan Seva Kendra Heirok’ which has been opened by the minister and his family.

After the pandemic is no longer an issue in the state, one ambulance will be handed over to Heirok CHC and another will be given to Nongpok Sekmai CHC for public use, he informed. 

The occasion was attended by president Heirok BJP Mandal, Th Chourjit along with other party leaders.
