Minister Awangbow Newmai inspects Loktak Lift Irrigation machinery

Minister Awangbow said that newly procured water pumps have been installed and assured that water woes of the farmers will be reduced once the transformers are installed.

Manipur Water Resource Minister Awangbow Newmai inspected the machinery of Loktak Lift Irrigation (LLI) in Bishnupur district along with Moirang MLA Thongam Shanti Singh.

Briefing the media, Minister Awangbow said that newly procured water pumps have been installed. He also assured that water woes of the farmers will be reduced once the transformers are installed.

He mentioned that the current problems were unexpected, and lauded Moirang MLA Thongam Shanti Singh for being considerate about the sufferings and problems faced by the farmers due to water shortage. He assured that new transformers will be arriving in a few days time. He said that work is in progress to mend and repair by replacing all the spare parts of the transformer with the new ones.

The officials and staff of the water resources department accompanied the minister during the inspection.
