The Manipur Hills Journalists' Union (MHJU) has expressed serious concerns over the present unrest situation in Manipur and appealed for restoration of peace and normalcy in the state.
The MHJU, in a press statement, also called for inter-community dialogue to resolve the present crisis.
The MHJU has also appealed to the state government for speedy evacuation process and provide relief measures to those affected families from different communities.
The conditions of those stranded in relief camps has worsened due to lack of basic amenities as many has escaped the violence without proper items and belongings to keep them for long.
Extending solidarity to those affected families and persons in the recent restive situation, the MHJU has expressed gratitude to the Indian Army and the paramilitary forces for providing security to the general masses, securing evacuated victims and providing shelter, food and protections during the present crisis.
The MHJU also thanked host of philanthropists and organizations involved in relief and evacuation exercise for those victims.
