Meeting, training programme conducted for Tamenglong, Noney district

During the meeting, the election department briefed the new rules issued by the Election Commission of India where 80 years and above and PWDs electors will get the opportunities to cast their votes through postal ballot during the coming election.

In view of the coming Manipur assembly elections 2022, the district administration of Tamenglong district held a meeting cum training programme at the DC conference hall with the national, state political parties, bank officials, media fraternities, printing press and tent house for Tamenglong and Noney district.

During the meeting, the election department briefed the new rules issued by the Election Commission of India where 80 years and above and PWDs electors will get the opportunities to cast their votes through postal ballot during the coming election.

Considering the price hike during the election season, a fixation of price according to the government rate is also discussed minutely with the election expenditure department.

For ensuring smooth and peaceful election, a model code of conduct status was also elaborated by the deputy commissioner of Tamenglong Hungyo Worshang.

Concerning political advertisement and paid news related in print and electronic media, Media Certification and Monitoring Committee (MCMC) nodal officer of Tamenglong district Anthony Gangmei made a brief representation to the political parties present in the meeting. 

A hands-on training of EVM/VVPATs for the representatives of political parties and media fraternities was also conducted.
