The All India Radio (AIR) Imphal Regional News Unit Akashvani Imphal on Sunday organised a media jacket distribution programme for its staff at the Akashvani Imphal Auditorium at Palace Compound, Imphal East.
A release issued by AIR, Akashvani Imphal stated that the distribution programme was sponsored by Thounaojam Chaoba Memorial Charitable Trust, Singjamei.
Akashvani Imphal director (Engineer) and head of office N Nandakumar extended acknowledgement to the trust for the initiative and stated that acting as the eyes and ears of the people, the news team of the unit have been vigilant in collecting and broadcasting quality news to the masses even during the times of crisis, it informed.
He mentioned that AIR Imphal had been preparing to use new technology to provide 24-hour broadcast service to the people, it continued. He also encouraged the news staff to strive for professionalism on par with the expectations of the people as AIR Imphal is a professional public broadcaster, it mentioned.
It stated that the chief guest of the event Thounaojam Chaoba Memorial Charitable Trust managing trustee Thounaojam Romen commended the staff of the unit for their relentless efforts in providing news to the public despite the trying adversities of the time.
The event was attended by Akashvani Imphal programme head Adhikarimayum Geetchandra Sharma, RNU news editor Jogendrajit Thokchom, Manipur state Cooperative Union technical engineering cell Manipur executive engineer Sanjay and Akashvani Imphal programme executive Heikrujam Debendra along with the staff of Akashvani Imphal and members of the trust.
