Md Zakir Hussain was on Tuesday appointed as working chairman of the minority department, Manipur Pradesh Congress Committee (MPCC), party sources said.
The All India Congress Committee (AICC) general secretary KC Venugopal in a release announced the appointment of Md Zakir Hussain. It stated that AICC has approved the proposal of the appointment of the chairman/woking chairman of minority department, Manipur Pradesh Congress Committee with immediate effect.
The AICC general secretary also mentioned that Md Zi Ul Haque; Hafiz Ahmed Ali and John Robert Babu has been appointed as minority department chairman of respective Pradesh committee of Odisha, Chandigarh and Andaman and Nicobar Island respectively.
It is said that Hussain is presently working as general secretary of minority department, MPCC. He was the former president of All Manipur Muslim Development Organisation, founder president fo Pangal Student Organisation (PSO), Manipur which is an apex body of Muslim students and founder vice-president of CDO, Club, Lilong.
On Monday, the Manipur Pradesh Congress Committee (MPCC) appointed Kh Ratankumar Singh as its working president soon after he stepped down as its vice-president. Singh submitted his resignation from the post of vice-president of Manipur Pradesh Congress Committee on Sunday.
