Manipuri Literary Association (MALA), Jiribam on Monday organised a writers’ meet ‘Hiyanggei Seidinnaba’ at the Conference Hall of Babupara, Jiribam.

The event was attended by secretary of Bhartiya Dalit Sahitya Academy, Manipur N Mohendra Singh, chairman of MALA F Ahmed and advisor of MALA Edward M K.

On the occasion attended by more than 30 writers from Imphal and Jiribam, N Mohendra Singh handed over a cash donation to MALA. As part of the occasion, the poets took turns and recited their poems, while writers handed copies of their books to MALA.

In the monthly organised poem contest, themed ‘Integrity’ for this year, Moirangthem Seitabati Devi scored the title ‘Poet of the Month’, while Moirangthem Tomei Hilghat’s poem titled ‘Lamdam asi toppida’ (Different is our land) won the poem contest for students of class 10 till graduation, themed ‘Leibak ningba’ (Patriotism).
