A youth was allegedly found hanging at the new building of District Fishery department in Khangabok under Thoubal Police Station, while another youth was killed in a road mishap near Moijing Oil Pump on Tuesday.
According to police sources, the deceased has been identified as Khundrakpam Ranjan alias Maingou, 21, son of Basanta from Khangabok Khullakpam leikai. The body was found at 10 am on Tuesday, it added. The Thoubal Police Station filed an Unnatural Death (UD) case regarding the incident, it mentioned.
Meanwhile, another youth was killed in a road mishap near Moijing Oil Pump along Thoubal to Mayang Imphal road on Tuesday.
According to sources, the victim was identified as one Md Eftikar alias Abungo, 19, son of Md Rahijuddin from Moijing Leingojing.
Eftikar along with his two friends were riding an unregistered Vespa scooter from Thoubal toward Moijing when they collided with a scooter (Hero Maestro 250 bearing registration number MN06SD-1349) approaching from the opposite direction.
In the incident Eftikar along with two others were badly injured, it further stated, adding they were rushed to Thoubal District Hospital. “When they reached the hospital, the doctors declared that Eftikar was brought dead,” it continued.
After a post mortem was conducted at JNIMS mortuary, the body was received by the bereaved family, it said. The police have lodged a case regarding the incident, it added.
