Manipur War on Drugs: More poppy plants destroyed in Kangpokpi

Around 30 acres of poppy plantation have been destroyed as per the Cyber and Media Cell, Kangpokpi Police.

A joint team conducted poppy plant destruction drive at Longa Koireng, S Laijang, Sehjang and Khoiripok Hill Range under New Keithelmanbi Police Station in Kangpokpi district on Friday and Saturday, as per the direction of the state government on ‘War on Drugs’.

The joint team consisted of Kangpokpi District police, NAB Imphal, NCB Imphal, Forest department of Kangpokpi, Bishnupur and Noney, SDO Kangchup Geljang under the supervision of SP Kangpokpi PG Singsit IPS.

Around 30 acres of poppy plantation have been destroyed as per the Cyber and Media Cell, Kangpokpi Police.

The drive led by additional SP (Ops), Kangpokpi also included DSP Kangpokpi, SDO Kangchup Geljang OC New Keithelmanbi, NAB, Forest department and officers and personnel of Kangpokpi District police numbering 50.

It stated that the poppy cultivating hill range is about 20 km west of New Keithelmanbi Police Station. One FIR has been taken up at New Keithelmanbi Police Station regarding the matter.
