Wahong Radio Station, broadcasting at 90.0 MHz, was officially launched at Shikhong Sekmai in Thoubal district on Sunday.
MD of the radio James Heigrujam said that the radio had been undergoing test broadcasts from 8.30 am to 1.30 am from February 4 for six months prior to its official launch.
He highlighted that the station offers a variety of programming, including entertainment, children’s shows, health information, and agricultural updates. He also urged the community to suggest additional programs they would like to see.
Secretary of the Center for Rural Empowerment and Development Organisation (CREDO) Wangkhem Anand, director general of the North East Centre for Technology Application and Reach (NECTAR) Arunkumar Sharma and technical advisor at NECTAR Krishna Kumar among others attended the event.
