According to his relative, they left their village after it was burned on May 7, though not completely, and hid in a jungle for a few days before they were evacuated to Kangpokpi district headquarters on May 13.

Since they left the village, the deceased could no longer have dialysis which led to his death.

The deceased relative recalled that the day when they left their village and hid in the jungle, his brother was already in a critical condition and they were helpless as they could not go to a hospital for his dialysis anymore.

Khaipao Haokip was buried at Keithelmanbi by Keithelmanbi Solam Baptist Church with the permission of Keithelmanbi Village Authority later in the evening.
