The Manipur government on Thursday issued the latest curfew relaxation timings for Imphal West and Imphal East districts for May 26.
Additional District Magistrate, Imphal West notified that curfew has been lifted for the district from 5 am to 12 noon for Friday, but it prohibits gathering of people for any other purposes other than procurement of essential items and office works.
The district magistrate Imphal East also notified the same for the district except for some areas of the district.
The order notified that curfew will not be lifted in the areas of Ayangpali Road from Lamlong Bazar to Yonglan Leirak, Imphal River from Thumbuthong to Lamlong Bridge via Minuthong, Lamlong Bazar and Yonglan Leirak to Thumbuthong via Pooja Lampak and Thangapat Mapal.
The order also notified that all persons belonging to essential services such as health, PHED, Municipal officials, staff and media personnels will be exempted from the further imposition of curfew after the expiry of the said period of relaxation.
Curfew relaxation for Bishnupur, Imphal East, Imphal West and Jiribam districts was cancelled and total curfew was imposed back on Wednesday-Thursday in view of the volatile situation in the state.
