A team of CDO-IW arrested one active member of a proscribed organisation, namely one Oinam Shanjoy Kumar, 44, son of Oinam Ibohal Singh from Kongpal Chingangbam Leikai, Imphal East district from his house on Monday.
During preliminary verification, he disclosed that he joined the organisation in 2010 through one Chaoren from Kongpal Kongkham Leikai and he is presently working for the said organisation since 2021 under the command of self styled captain Thokchom Brendy Meitei alias Saphongba.
He further disclosed that he went to Moreh to meet his commander in February, 2021 and he frequently communicates with his commander through mobile phone. Under his instruction, he recently made monetary demands to several government officials and the general public in and around the valley area.
Further, he disclosed that he used one Honda Activa blue in colour bearing Regn. No. MN01AF 2670 while performing their party activities and the same Honda Activa was recovered from his house.
The arrested person and the seized articles were handed over to Porompat PS for taking further necessary legal action.
