Manipur: UG cadre arrested at Komlakhong village

A combined team of state police commando, Imphal West and a column of 31 Assam Rifles have arrested an active member of proscribed underground group KCP (MC) on Friday from Komlakhong village near Hanging bridge, said police source. The arrested cadre has been identified as one Nongthombam Suresh Singh, 19, son of N Ibungo Singh of Kwakta Ward Number 9. During verification, Suresh disclosed that he joined the underground group in 2018 through one sergeant of the said proscribed underground group, John presently staying at Tanal, Myanmar.  He joined through social media (Facebook). In the same year, one youth was also recruited to the underground group from Keibul Lamjao, police reported. Further, he admitted that presently he is working under John. Suresh has been handed over to Mayang Imphal police station for further necessary legal action.
