Two aspiring candidates of Keirao assembly constituency and Henglep (ST) assembly constituency have joined the State Shiv Sena party to contest the upcoming state assembly election.
The two newly joined members are Toijam Debananda Singh and former MLA T Tangzalam Haokip of Keirao assembly constituency and Henglep assembly constituency respectively.
Haokip was elected as MLA from Henglep assembly constituency and was former chairman of Hill Area Committee. He was a BJP aspiring candidate but was not named during the announcement of BJP candidate list and the ticket was given to Letzamang Haokip.
Toijam Debananda Singh was another BJP aspiring candidate for the Keirao assembly constituency but the ticket was given to Lourembam Rameshwor who is also the sitting MLA.
State president of Shiv Sena Manipur Unit M Tombi said the party has already announced six candidates and Toijam Debananda Singh and former MLA T Tangzalam Haokip have also announced as candidate of their respective assembly constituency.
The third phase of the candidate list will be announced in the next few days, said Tombi.
